Whitewater Kayak Chile Season Rule of Thumb

  • October–December: Pucon and Northern Chile rivers flow at prime levels. Some northern runs dry out around the holidays while rivers south of Pucon are often too high and frigid. Great for experienced kayakers and waterfall runs.
  • December–March: Pucon and Southern Chile rivers (including Futaleufu) offer ideal conditions for all levels after the holidays. As the summer warms the levels drop to manageable glorious levels.
